Did you know that OPI has over 170+ nail lacquers to choose from????
No wonder I can’t make a color decision!!!!!
What’s your favorite color?
This is definitely a feel good story! Last July, OPI and Salon Centric nationwide did a contest for those who love both the store and the brand!
While in a Salon Centric store on July 13th, if you took a picture of your favorite OPI product and then shared it on your social media with the hashtag #opixsaloncentric, you were entered into a contest to win a $800.00 shopping spree through corporate OPI!
While I was in Aurora CO yesterday, the store manager Kim was asking about the winners. Since there were several students from the school next door to the store who had entered the contest, we did a little digging!
We found out that one of the students who was entered into the contest was one of the five winners.
You should have seen her face when we went next door to tell her she had won!!!! I have never gotten a bigger hug then from this VERY happy student!!!!
The winner, Lolita, and Aurora Salon Centric manager, Kim!
Two pretty happy gals!
I got my hands on the newest top coats from OPI. They are called Brilliant and Plumping. So I decided to do a little test.
I have a color that has a ton of texture in it and thought that this would be the best way to find out if they make a difference in how the polish looks with both the new top coats!
Here is a macro shot of the glitter polish by itself. You can see the lumps and bumps of the glitter chunks. It feels rough to the touch.
I used one coat of the Brilliant top coat on a nail with the same glitter polish. The consistency of this top coat seemed like other top coats.
You can see where it has evened out the lumps and bumps a bit and given it more shine! Very pretty. It feels less rough than without the top coat.
And finally, I used one coat of the Plumping top coat over glitter polish. This top coat had a thicker consistency than regular top coat but still dried in the same amount of time.
This really does add plumpness between the lumps and bumps of the glitter polish. It also feels almost smooth to the touch. Remember that I used glitter polish, so it is quite a feat to give a smooth feel with one coat of top coat!
Available at fine salons and distributors everywhere!
The release of OPI’s Fall Winter collection, entitled the DC Collection which features collaboration from the beautiful and talented actress, Kerry Washington, is one of my favorite collections. Although it is a fall release, where you find predominately dark shade, this collections delights me with its lighter colors such as “Never a Dulles Moment” and “Freedom of Peach”
The usual 12 colors plus 3 more picked especially by Kerry Washington. (marked with ***)
Here they are.
A dark blue green that will suite any business attire. A great option instead of straight black.
This color is the perfect blend of fall color but still has a lightness to it so you don’t feel weighed down by the color!
Creamy medium mocha brown. I think it would look great with Pale to The Chief for nail art!
This is a classic winter shade in a deep darker plum tone. Classy.
Another of my favorites. This gray is the perfect grey for my liking. An opaque medium dark grey that will work with any skin tone.
A fun berry toned red for those cooler nights.
Such a great change to see some bright colors in a fall release. It lightens up the whole collection and will let us nail artists create vibrant winter nail art.
More of a bluish red. Nice to have a choice in your reds.
This one of course will be the base for a lot of nail art. Creamy nude a little on the darker side than summer shades of nude.
This color mixes dark grey and browns to give us a almost black but still dark dark brown tone.
Another great neutral tone for winter. This creme texture will work well with all the others in this collection. Can be for business or weekend wear. Muted brown would be a good description.
Lively dark green shade but completely classy.
This is more of a camo green. I like the creme texture of this one as well.
A sexy burgundy red. Straight up sexy!
Besides the fun name, this color is so great for fall. A bit of a burnt orange or pumpkin color.
I noted after I took the photos of the swatches that this whole collection is cremes. Interesting and lovely collection.
Available at fine salons and retailers, your local professional supplier and by checking in at www.opi.com
I can say that Kerry Washington’s personality is all over this collection. Stylish, fun, classy and a little sassy. The lady is simply beautiful!
