are delightful. Gorgeous reds, shimmery silvers, and for the first time since I can remember, a lovely Tiffany inspired blue…So great to see a joyful, rich, lighter color for the holiday.
Well, now it is available in Infinite Shine from OPI. Infinite Shine is a extended wear lacquer that has the high gloss finish similar to gel color but removes with regular polish remover. The best of both worlds!!!
The Holiday packaging is spot on as well. Here, you get the color as well as the base and top coats needed to get the longevity and shine from the color.
This color is called “I believe in Manicures” and it really is one of the prettiest holiday colors I have seen in a long time.
Available at authorized retailers and fine salons everywhere.
I know there has been a lot of talk in the industry in regards to the use of chrome pigments and holo pigments. I am not here to agree or disagree with any ones view, but to mention the upside of my testing out chrome and holo pigments.
The one thing that these trends have made me realize is that your work has to be PERFECT! Not even the slightest dip or bump can be left on the nail or it looks like, well, you know!!!
Let’s look at the line of light on this nail.
line of light shows a depression in nail!
And the other thing that I learned, by error, is that if you use a certain no wipe top coat to create the look, you have to use it on all fingers. I did some repairs after I saw my line of light was off and I used a different no wipe top coat. Both work just fine, but I did get different colors out of them! Same base color and holo pigments.
Very slight, but one looks more silver than gold! Good to know for the future. Whether to keep your mani looking perfect or to use it for a different effect!
That’s what I found the be the upside of chrome/holo nails. It makes you do better work!!!!
The release of OPI’s Fall Winter collection, entitled the DC Collection which features collaboration from the beautiful and talented actress, Kerry Washington, is one of my favorite collections. Although it is a fall release, where you find predominately dark shade, this collections delights me with its lighter colors such as “Never a Dulles Moment” and “Freedom of Peach”
The usual 12 colors plus 3 more picked especially by Kerry Washington. (marked with ***)
Here they are.
CIA-COLOR IS AWESOME
A dark blue green that will suite any business attire. A great option instead of straight black.
FREEDOM OF PEACH
This color is the perfect blend of fall color but still has a lightness to it so you don’t feel weighed down by the color!
INSIDE THE ISABELLETWAY ***
Creamy medium mocha brown. I think it would look great with Pale to The Chief for nail art!
KERRY BLOSSOM ***
This is a classic winter shade in a deep darker plum tone. Classy.
LIV’IN IN THE GRAY ***
Another of my favorites. This gray is the perfect grey for my liking. An opaque medium dark grey that will work with any skin tone.
A fun berry toned red for those cooler nights.
NEVER A DULLES MOMENT
Such a great change to see some bright colors in a fall release. It lightens up the whole collection and will let us nail artists create vibrant winter nail art.
OPI BY POPULAR VOTE
More of a bluish red. Nice to have a choice in your reds.
PALE TO THE CHIEF
This one of course will be the base for a lot of nail art. Creamy nude a little on the darker side than summer shades of nude.
SHHH’S-IT’S TOP SECRET
This color mixes dark grey and browns to give us a almost black but still dark dark brown tone.
SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE
Another great neutral tone for winter. This creme texture will work well with all the others in this collection. Can be for business or weekend wear. Muted brown would be a good description.
STAY OFF THE LAWN
Lively dark green shade but completely classy.
SUZI-THE FIRST LADY OF NAILS
This is more of a camo green. I like the creme texture of this one as well.
WE THE FEMALE
A sexy burgundy red. Straight up sexy!
YANK MY DOODLE
Besides the fun name, this color is so great for fall. A bit of a burnt orange or pumpkin color.
I noted after I took the photos of the swatches that this whole collection is cremes. Interesting and lovely collection.
Available at fine salons and retailers, your local professional supplier and by checking in at www.opi.com
I can say that Kerry Washington’s personality is all over this collection. Stylish, fun, classy and a little sassy. The lady is simply beautiful!

I am so in love with the nude colors that are out on the market right now. I especially love when you add something so simple as a matte top coat to give your manicure subtle texture.
Or by adding some bling!!!! Just on one nail of course!!! LOL
“Put it in Neutral” with a little Bling!!!!
Although I have done swatches and a full post (http://seriouslynails.com/?p=4290) I thought I would share with you some of the options that you have to purchase these beauties. And to introduce to you a very “of the moment” lacquer option.
To further my beginning paragraph, OPI is introducing richly pigmented formulas you love to love in this season’s hottest nude mattenail trend!OPI is introducing the new SoftShades Collection.
This of-the-moment collection of blushes, nudes, and matte shades delivers rich, true-to-bottle color with just a few coats, even in the lightesthues.
Colors in this package are “Love is in the Bare” and “I Couldn’t Bare Less.”
And since they are already matte, it is easy easy easy!
Next we have our favorites, the Mini’s. 4 easy to pack travel sizes of lacquer in the shades of “Act your Beige”, “This Silver is Mine”, “Make Light of the Situation” and my personal favorite and the one featured in the first picture, “Put it in Neutral”.
Finally to get your own bling-ed out look, OPI gives us The Look of Crystal Kit, which includes 3 lovely colors to play with. “Chiffon My Mind”, “This Silver is Mine”, and “Black Onyx.” Then the playing gets easy with real Swarovski crystals, and glue!
Let the games begin!
