I am away from my office today as I am taking this course with Celina Ryden.
But I promise to have lots of pictures to show for tomorrow’s blog! SO EXCITED!
As part of the Nails Mastered course, we were tasked with creating nails to represent one of eight trends forecast by World Global Style Network for Spring Summer 2017.
I choose “Peasant Charm”
Using a technique I learned from Neiru, gel color by OPI and matte gel top coat from Light Elegance I created these.
About the top coat! It is so nice to work with because the consistency is thicker than regular gel top coats. It levels out beautifully and has a definite matte appearance once it is cleaned. If you love the look of matte, I definitely suggest this one!
I received some serious love in the mail from Light Elegance! I was so pleased when I opened the package.Inside the package was a Bonder Gel, hard gel and Super Shiny top coat.
As well as three gorgeous glitter gels from “Baby it’s Cold Outside” Glitter collection. These can be cured in a UV light or in a LED! Bonus!!!
There are six in total but I am so happy to see that they sent me some really classic Christmas colors.
I decided that I wanted to show you one of them to start with. (I am playing catch up today after being out of town for 3 days….;) )
They also sent me 3 of the winter collection “Baby it’s Cold Outside” Gel colors!
and this seriously wicked brush. It is a #4 oval and I found it to be the perfect length and weight for my hand. I also really like the size and stiffness to the bristles. Oh and it is SPARKLY!!! LOL
Here is a close up of the Tuxedo glitter color they sent. I was very interested in seeing how it sat on a nail. Sometimes glitters are too chunky and don’t lay flat on the nail giving you a hard time while doing nail art.
This is the first coat of Tuxedo. I love how it applies with the #4 oval brush. The brush gives you a solid yet flexible tip to help move the glitter bits where you need them. I think it has pretty good coverage for the first coat.
The second coat filled it in perfectly. I don’t feel like you would need to apply another coat. It would be totally up to you but I like this look.
Here was the test. I did the two coats and then used Super Shiny to finish the application. I then used a very opaque white gel to draw fine lines. I am so happy that the glitters lay flat on the nail! Look how smooth the line work is. No lumps or bumps to make the lines look crooked! AWESOME!!!
I completed the look with more fine lines and added some Swarovski® crystals (of course!) for a nice cool toned base look with splashes of fire-y red to add a little extra pizazz!
Of note is the Super Shiny. This top coat has a moist surface layer after it is cured so make sure you wipe that off before you add your crystals.
Over all, I really like the glitter gel in Tuxedo, and my new brush! I promise that I will post more of the other glitters and colors soon.
Thank you Light Elegance for sharing these super Glitter Gels with me.
