It is very sad that I am telling you that Industry Icon, Vicki Peters, has passed away this morning.
Vicki has helped so many people with her knowledge and passion for the nail industry. Her career involved every aspect of the nail world. From having her own salon, competition work and including working as a consultant for manufacturers.
I wish to send my prayers to her family.
The nail industry will miss you but we are grateful for all the passion you gave to it!

I feel quite bad that it has been over a month since the world learned about Vicki’s struggle with cancer, and I just learned about it.
Let me tell you a quick bit about Vicki.
Vicki has been a Master Nail Technician for years now. As long as I have been in the industry, Vicki’s name has been here.
She is a Global Educator and with over 15 years in the competition circuit, Vicki knows about nails.
She has worked with many Nail Magazines including Nails Magazine, Scratch Magazine, NailPro (including NailPro Europe) as well as writing exerepts for Milady Standards of Nail Technology.
It was sad for me to learn that she is battling cancer, but I am proud to know that many of our industry people are doing what they can to help this woman who has been such a icon in the nail world.
I found out about it on Twitter (I believe) when there was a campaign running to help raise some funds for her medical expenses. Vicki has not been working for awhile and folks just wanted to help her out.
T-shirts were available to purchase that showed the support she deserves from the industry she gives so much to!
We are, after all, care givers!
Although the campaign is over, it was a great success. You can see more of it on the link at the bottom, but here is a quick review.
Our friend Vicki Peters has just been diagnosed with cancer. They are still testing and we do not have a prognosis or treatment plan as of yet. She has been unable to work for some time now and this fund is to get her some financial assistance while she prepares for what to do next. As we express our love and prayers to her lets give back to her like she has given to so many of us. Our industry has been her love and passion. Now lets make her ours.
Thank you to the organizers of this fundraiser.
And thank you, Vicki Peters, for sharing your passion with the nail world. It is a better place because of you.
